Stream-punk often puts romantic notions ahead of believability and science and this book puts those notions light years beyond. It's fun to see things built without struggling with all the understanding of what can go wrong or what just can't work. I suspect (dimly) that travel beyond the speed of light is impossible but when I look at the stars I want to be there. I want to go back (or forward) time. Far beyond escapism is lots of types of fiction that I love. Do not let reality get in the way of a good story. And this author doesn't, at all, not in the least. I'll probably need to read a hard science book next (with lots of formulas, diagrams and explanations).Product details

Ava has done it again. Her description of the machines and action is great. I would recommend this book to any who either ask or are willing to listen.
This is the third in a series and I couldn't wait to read this book. The first two books blended seamlessly into this book. I'm always a little concerned with series, especially when you're not following the same characters across the entire series. That's not to say you'll not see familiar characters return and they return with a purpose, not as superfluous additions to crate a bridge from the last book. I love that Miss Morgan crosses cultures with her characters, the books are not always set with just one cultural view. You get a sense of the location. As if, Miss Morgan has travel to these places. I could almost smell the baking bread in a French Provencal boulangerie.
This is a romance, but NOT of the bodice ripping ilk. Her romances pay homage to the theme of a good Tracey and Hepburn romance. Miss Morgan's females characters aren't some timid flower waiting to be rescued, but are equal to their male counterpart in brains, innovation and strength of character. The female characters are strong, smart, self reliant and would be great role models reading for a young female readers. Dominique (the female lead) has a quick whit and even quicker barb responses to Colton's (male lead) teasing. I don't know if she intended there to be an Easter Egg in the story, but I clearly caught, when Colton says his not a wolf, the reference to the French fairy tall of "Little Red Riding Hood" and the allegory of men being wolfs and are untrustworthy. In fact, Colton is quite the opposite to the wolf int he fairy tail. If there's anyone Mini should trust, it'd be Colton. Don't be mistaken, Colton is not some background fluff to Mini's character. He's smart, thinks on the fly and has a wicked sense of humor. I loved these characters.
This was a fun and fast read. If I did have any complaints, it'd be I wish the story had lasted longer. We can only hope Miss Morgan will follow Mini and Colton, as well as some of her other characters, into future books. There is clearly more to their stories than what Miss Morgan captured in these books. I want MORE!
This is the third book in the series and I have enjoyed each of them! I was a little unclear what the "steampunk" concept was which made me unsure of whether or not I would enjoy the books. They very far surpassed my expectations! I enjoyed the quick, easy read that introduced me to Dominique, the heroine of this book. She is, for lack of a better term, a fireball! Incredibly smart and quick witted. I enjoyed following her journey through the book! I only wish the book lasted longer! I cannot wait to read more books from Ava Morgan!
So far I've really enjoyed this series. All three books have had heroines that I can relate to. They're strong women who know their mind and know what they want. They're capable of taking care of themselves but they have no problem letting a gentleman jump in and help every now and then. I especially appreciate that all three books in this series involve a tasteful romance. I know a lot of people want more graphic descriptions of certain scenes, but for myself I don't watch porn so I have no desire to read it. I look forward to reading more from this author.
